When Shanice heard that Alexa had accepted a new job in New York and was about to move into the building, she couldn't help but think back to their college days.

As a native New Yorker, Shanice had a hard time adjusting when she first went to college in California. Luckily, she met her college roommate, Alexa Kwan. Alexa had moved with her parents from Guangzhou to San Francisco when she was seven, so she could empathize with the inconveniences and awkwardness Shanice felt when she first arrived in an unfamiliar city.

After graduation, the two went their separate ways: Shanice returned to New York to pursue a career in design, while Alexa stayed in California and went to Los Angeles, where she quickly made a name for herself in the fashion industry and became a force to be reckoned with. After successfully saving a brand on the verge of bankruptcy, she became widely recognized in the industry as the Asian girl who could do anything.

After Shanice's debut show was a huge success, she suddenly received a text from Alexa: Alexa was about to move to New York to work for an athleisure brand and serve as its CPO.

After the chaotic move and work handover were over, Alexa invited Shanice to join her at the brand's pop-up event in Manhattan.
